Distinctive Unit Insignia


Description/Blazon
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield divided per fess, the upper half Azure and the lower half per pale Gules and Argent, a sword point up Argent (Silver) with a leather grip Proper and a lightning bolt saltirewise Or, overall a longhorn steer skull affront of the third with eyes and lower jaw cavities Sable, in chief a mullet of the third.  Around the bottom of the shield is a Blue scroll inscribed with "DOMINATUS NON VIS" in Gold letters.

Symbolism
The Group is a branch immaterial multi-component unit with Operations, Intelligence, Psychological Operations and Signal tasks and provides for new and important forms of warfare. The shield symbolizes the unit's offensive capabilities.  The lightning bolt denotes both the unit's electronic and signal warfare capabilities and the speed and ability for the unit to strike whenever and wherever needed.  Red, white and blue and the single star represent both the colors of our Nation and the flag of the Republic of Texas.  The longhorn steer skull distinctly highlights the unit's home state and the robust Texas heritage.  The motto translates to "Unseen Dominance."  

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 25 May 2010.
